Grew up on the water in Rhode Island, running around barefoot on docks, singing in grocery store aisles, and paying close attention to the way music makes people feel. Raised on hand-me-down guitars and her dad’s yacht rock collection, she developed an early appreciation for sound, storytelling, and atmosphere.

A self-taught musician and multidisciplinary creative, her influences range from The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac to Jeff Buckley, The Cardigans, and The Beach Boys - artists known for pushing emotional and sonic boundaries.

Her work is rooted in feeling and detail, whether that’s through writing, visual direction, or music. She’s especially drawn to the small things: pedalboards, layered vocals, the way a lyric lands, and tends to approach them with both curiosity and intention.
Outside of the magazine, she’s usually in nature - on a dock, laying in the sun, writing poems or songs, finding meaning in everything, and talking to birds.

Born in Pennsylvania and raised in Indiana on a steady stream of ‘70s rock CDs and Irish festivals, Sierra’s creative story started early. The eldest in a family where music was bloodline, learning piano at five and bass at twelve, and trying just about every instrument she could get her hands on before officially identifying as a bassist. A passion for the lens shortly followed.

She continued with photography and music into college, briefly studying studio art before shifting focus to upright bass and jazz at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. She later stepped away from the academic path in favor of a more self-directed creative life, but the foundation remains central to her work, grounded in instinct, feel, and a strong technical eye.

Now based in Charleston, Sierra plays bass across rock and indie projects and is developing new bands within the local scene. Her sound is rooted in groove, tone, and live energy.

She has been photographing for over a decade and recently launched Untamed Frame, her photography business focused on musicians, people, animals, and everyday moments. Sierra documents Charleston’s music scene through a candid, unfiltered lens: capturing real moments as they happen, before they have the chance to be anything else.
